U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary - Eighth Western Rivers Region
Who We Are:
A volunteer arm of the U.S. Coast Guard, Flotilla 22 was chartered on June 1, 1942. Members reside in Wabasha, Minnesota City, Winona and many other towns in Southeastern Minnesota, Menomonie, Eleva and Mondovi in Southwestern Wisconsin and in Northeastern Iowa. Our mission is to teach safety and good practices on the water. Members reap satisfaction in working with other members having the same interests. |
What We Do:
Flotilla 22 actively promotes safe boating by providing public education courses, vessel safety checks and safety patrols along the Upper Mississippi River including the communities of Winona, Minnesota; Lansing and Marquette, Iowa; and La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Under guidance of the Coast Guard, members learn the proper techniques for boating operations, safety patrols, search procedures, safe use of boating equipment and working as a team. |
When We Meet:
Meetings are scheduled as needed with the time and place set by a majority vote of the members. Notifications are sent well in advance of the event. Meeting sites are chosen to accommodate the diverse locations of the members. Contact the Flotilla Commander for the time and place of the next meeting. |
